Yeah, Michelle Wie doesn't look very tall in pictures, but there's usually not much to compare her to. That dude in 300 was pretty huge.

I wonder if it's an disadvantage or advantage to be tall when you play golf. She's one inch taller than Tiger Woods.

well the longer your arms the faster you can get the club head speed
so she should be able to hit much further than someone with the same swing who was shorter

    Clubhead Speed
A golfer rotates his body during the swing reaching maximum speed of rotation at the moment the club is about to hit the ball. For most golfers this speed is fairly constant in most of their swings. This means that their out-stretched hands complete the path around the dashed circle (see figure below) in the same time during every swing. The clubhead moves faster because it follows the larger dashed circle during the same time as the shorter arms. Most golfers describe their ability to rotate by giving the clubhead speed of a driver. This speed varies between 160 mph (experts) and 70 mph for inexperienced golfers.

Yes, longer arms, more drive. But that's not everything. There has to be some kind of threshold where the lesser motor skills of a tall person outweighs the benefit of effortlessly increased speed. Though clearly not at 6'1"-6'5".

I think you start to really lose dexterity and coordinatedness around 6'8"-6'10"

well i guess the combination of small person dexterity in a larger frame is what makes her, and dudes like Shaq, special

Shaq has no dexterity. Dude cant make a shot outside of 5 feet, he relies on being much bigger and out muscling opponents and pushing his way to the rim. That is what I'm talking about, basketball players can have good fundamentals, good shooting touch/mechanics, and athleticism until they get to be around 6'10" and then they lose a lot of those things that a smaller player can do. Of course there are exceptions but in general, players under 6'10" have a much greater chance at being able to shoot, dribble, cut, jump, athletic stuff than players who are taller. Players over 6'10" get put in a "big man" category where stuff that other players must be able to do, they get a pass on because they are big, like shooting, shooting free throws, dribbling, passing, etc.
