E-gads! My 16-year old sister used to watch that twisted film over and over again. She became so involved in it, she wanted to live it. I knocked reality back into her though when I took her to get her bellybutton pierced. And her nose. Wasn't as glamourous when healing, she found.

Especially when I told her vinegar w/ a salt base was the best anesthetic cleaning agent around.

    E-vuhhhllll.

Hm, and here I was thinking the moral of that movie was to stay far far away from that kind of disillusionment..

Yeah - she's an eighteen year old actress. In the movie she plays a teenager, with some kind of vigilantism going on.

There's only two characters driving the film, and the premise is good, but the execution is a little long.

It would've been better if it was a one-act play to be honest. It gets a bit wordy, and somehow, I felt it came off as smugly self-righteous.

The two characters pull of a major tour de force of power acting however. It IS spooky in it's closeness, and subtle in it's relationship rendering.

I recommend it for home viewing.

mike thanks for mega neat review you word maven.

but i do think if it comes across as self righteous. the movie will be an 'easier' thing to to 'push' in the states....

Yeah, we all like to see an anti-hero.

The lead actress does this with a "play-against" direction that is unsettling. Kinda like those kids in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series with their "One, Two, Freddys After You"...
