That was nice....Never heard of Bobbie Gentry before....Odd since I grew up around country music. Made me think of Glen Campbell and Dusty Springfield for some reason:
There is a version of Dusty Springfield singing What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life... its a phenominal version. Its not on Youtube, so I can't link it. But I highly recommend it if you can find it.
Awww... Thanks Francios. Few things will motivate me to not be lazy and plug my speaker into the computer to listen to something. That was one of them! I LOVE that song, but I'm sure you could have guessed that already. Thanks :-D.
The Rhine Stone Cowboy video is horrible. Sad part was he probably thought he was so cool back than. Here's one that make me think of when I lived in Texas as little boy:
It my accusatory tone! If I said in a playful tone, "You have a thing for the rubber ducky, dont you?" Than maybe your would splash your bathtub water and laugh.
imo, one of the greastest pop songs/videos ever. it was nice of george to let mike campell play "rocky" the 60's strat that george played durin the sgt pepper era
Really? About "rocky. Here's another for Pinchy (ps the sound is missing at the very beginning....Don't adjust your speakers): I can't tell you why. I know it's got less of the spice of some of the other Eagles hits, but I always liked this one. Did you know? They were formed originally to be session musicians and later became Linda Ronstadt's back-up band.
i love- i can't tell you why, its one my favorite guitar songs to jam along to. i like the guitar solo, felder was good, but the new guitarist kicks ass.
yeah, Rocky was a guitar that george aquired in sonic blue finish, and painted it himself, and his estate still owns it today. i read up on all the beatles instruments in a book called Beatles Gear. covers every guitar/pedal/bass drum the beatles ever owned http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Gear-Softcover-Andy-Babiuk/dp/0879307315/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207923655&sr=8-1
Me too....Reminds me of the summer I stayed with my father in Austin. It was a great summer. Oddly enough.....That summer I saw a man get struck by lightning while standing in the apartment complex pool. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. It was like slo-mo and he turned bright blue and streaks of blue light went across the pool.....But I digress. Aside form that, it was a great summer. I spent the summer, while father was busy working on his PHD getting my first crushes on all the pretty University of Texas at Austin college women. Oh and getting in heaps of trouble. I could write a book about that summer alone.
Yikes. That sounds like a traumatic experience if I ever heard one. I'd have a hard time getting over seeing something like that. I lose it when I see a dead animal on the side of the road....
I saw the flash, but not the aftermath....Ambulances and stuff. Mainly because my Step mother decided to get in the car and drive away from the impending tornado.
i didn't even know they made a 2nd i love watching Roys' Black n White nights, concert. that concert and the tribute to george harrison have to be the greatest concert dvds ever.
Yeah apparently there was a second album. I remember playing that album why we played Gauntlet and Zork on my Apple IIe. Oh that Roy concert was amazing. I haven't seen the George Harrison one, but I'll have to look for it now.
Love that song......"Time to play B sides"! Oh and Ron Jeremy plays guitar!? Awesome! I love how the supposed "teenager" look like she 28 and is totally ignoring that there is a band there at all. She obviously hears the music......How about acknowledging the band....."You better recognize!" Cheesyness rules! Thanks Pinchy.
Here's my response to the the Bob Dylan video above. I picked this video in particular, because it had the subtitles to the song, some vintage footage and some the scenes from the movie. Thought it brought it all together quite well. Here it is: Hurricane:
PS who is the other video...Look familiar and I know I've heard the song. Do you know the artist?
If you want heart-breakingly sad, romantic... go find "Ghost of a Chance" by the Primitive Radio Gods. One of my favorite songs. I would post it, but I can't find it anywhere and I can't even dl it with Limewire anymore for some reason, so the only copy I have is on my iPod.
This song makes me miss Lisbon so much. Just want to go back there. One of my favorite places I've travelled to. And this woman has a hell of a set of pipes on her. A little different from my musical postings, so bear with me.
arg... coming soon... fixed... don't know what happened there.
I really like the group, but a lot of people in Spain turn their noses up at them... since they are pop.
But I love his voice. And the music.
And I don't know what happened. I swear I posted this song when I got to work, but its not here. So we'll try this again. Heard it on the way to work this morning on the radio and felt like sharing. Never really cared for the song before this morning, oddly enough. So here's a little Journey to get the morning rolling:
Thanks...Pinch....That was a nice start....Oddly enough....Steve Perry kind of reminds me of Tiffany here..... No he doesn't have red hair, but they do have the same style. :O)
Nice...Great song. I was trying to find warm love by him, but nothing that I can find and post here...Just on my Ipod. It's my favorite song by him.....Warm love I mean.
Yeah... Moon Dance isn't my favorite song by him, either... but there aren't very many besides Brown Eye Girl that I can find to post. So I went with Moon Dance, because I do love it.
Yeah...you are right. Not much to choose from... :O( I like the choice though...Nice for a mellow Thursday. Everyone here at work is going ape shit.....But not me....Thank Pinchy.
i liked both songs - never heard them before, even though i nelly like very much. i hope she's gone back to her natural hair color, so she can stop looking like a fool
