    guess i'd still think these are essential. but i'm sort of out of it...

    if you like anything 'remotely 'rock/indie or that doesn't seem billboard 200 likely give it a whorl...

    Glim...tell me what you mean by rock/indie I went to the 2nd site and saw Joe Satriani - he is cool. Do you like heavy metal...not thrash...heavy like Metallica? I have some favs that are off the beaten path. One old band with only one CD that was actually made originally for the old quad systems (so it has awesome separation) is Montrose, self named album. Rock Candy, Space Station etc...just awesome. Timeless rock. Ronnie Montrose was a guitar god way back when. The first CD by Hot Action Cop...man! I just want to get in my car and speed to that one. Music has been kind of boring lately huh? I LOVE that one by Papa Roach - Scars...the lead singer is so hot in the video (I know - more than you probably wanted) .LOL Or Cold's song "A Different Kind of Pain"...love Disturbed, Saliva, Staind, I hate to admit it but I really like Limp Bizkit too...

    hey angelfod. really it's weird i haven't paid attention to music for awhile. to painfull. you know. it does seem everything went out for everyone *expect me* ha ha..

    hmm what do i like. i guess lot of stuff...

    the dustdevils,black tambourine,band of susans,lorelei,moonshake,lush,ut,

    live skull,the fall,husker du,(bob mould),eric's trip,bleach(the british/non christian

    prolapse,medicine(u.s.a. cali based version) the faith healers(british version) this kind of punishment,novak,swirlies,the second swervedriver cd(mezcal head)
    the charlottes, pavement(the 'geek' era stuff before females started to swoon for stephen.that's the real pavement !). etc/whatever....

    my bloody valentine i don't like 'loveless' though.guess i'm too into 'noisy' guitars for 'beauty' .or maybe i'm so ugly /guitars make me beautiful.. :)

    hmm sorry i know your being nice. and idon't want to sound too difficult. but i'm not much for 'metal' i'm not much for 'riffy' guitar sound/sonics. and i usally don't like the singers voice much either. well what do expect i'm a wimp...i don't like 'punk' either so maybe i don't have penis. ha ha... :)

    hmm i'd rank gemm.com over musicstack. which means i've used it more. ha ha... :)

    I have heard of a couple of the bands you mentioned. The Lorelei and my bloody valentine...I don't have the opportunity to go out and club anymore so my options have been limited. When I lived in Seattle I had a good station/outlet to hear new stuff...gawd...down here in Mobile area it is Redneck country...

    I have xm radio so I don't buy much anymore. With an almost teenage daughter I hear a lot more of Green Day and Fall Out Boy then I would like to! LOL I am going to age myself here but I am a major fan of New Age stuff like William Ackerman, Alex de Grassi, and I am big into "loud -shit" music. Just a weakness of mine. I listen to the music at yahoo and have built a station I like stuff all over the place from 60's to current. I am big into some "wordy" type music...Indigo Girls, Neil Young...Guitars...Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn...and unfortunately I have the loud, obnoxious car stero that is capable of pissing off lots of people around me! LOL

    wow you've heard of lorelei. well i hope you heard 'the right' version. yep there are at least two bands named lorelei. i like the one that was on slumberland records...:)

    fall out boy the supposed to be some nude/penis pics of one the band members out there in net land.

    it's weird the older i get the less tolerance i have for stuff. you know if nothing is going to interest. i don't want to hear anything !!!!!!! were as before /out curiousty whatever i'd pay attention. but why pay attention when theere is nothing to look forward too?? aside from wanting to feel (even) worse.....

    But that is so true these days. I just don't understand what is happening today. I try hard to follow along and learn what is up and coming...the social mores, shit that effects teens today. It is scary -they are being hit with so much. School is so restricted today - I would have hated going to high school today...even college...I hate censorship yet if you don't have parents involved - kids can get some really raunchy shit on the internet and even from peers these days.

    When I was a kid, I went thru several foster homes. It was a drag but I did alot of "internalizing" like this song seems to present to me. I used to walk for miles, hide out in the forest 'til they would just about come searching for me. At some point you just gotta say fuck your parents and become who you are. My parents were so disappointed in me...yet I am the only one that turned out even 1/2 way decent. It pisses me off when parents don't support what their child is striving to become. Guidance with love, choose your battles - so who cares they want red hair or black nails...etc...better battles to wage. LOL All these parents that freak cuz their kids are gay...who gives a fuck as long as they are "whole" people? Happy in life, contributing adults with direction and a life?

    I really will just pass on the penis shots of Fallout Boy...they are butt ugly....

    I go thru cycles. I read A LOT and do major textile crafts so I go thru stages. I was a Business Manager for a child psychologist...we had a beautiful young lady come in (with major problems...cutting being one of them) she turned me on to Lorilei and my bloody valentine...she said I could get their music at smoke shop type places. I looked just couldn't find.

    I hear you on that tolerance thing...I am the same way with authors too. I thirst for new things to hear in music I am gonna look up your suggestions.

    kids and raunchy internet stuff. i know it's like a 'competion' to see who can find the worse stuff.

    wow foster homes... you know i know i always read of etc.people that i know have had it a lot worse than me. but i can't shape up. 'i can't save you/i can't save you/and if you don't blame me than i won't blame you'...

    it's weird at least there i would have a smidgen of hope because let's say a record like the dustdevils 'struggling/electric/chemical' would come out. why.how did they send aall that time on the layers of guitars/sound knowing that all the segements of 'indie' and mainstream rock. rock them off didn't thing they were 3% good. thought they were worthless or medicore at best. or a 'clone' of bit more well know band(condesned take how can be a clone when you were 'pop' before the more well known band etc. )

    they know they wouldn't get/make any money. no good reviews.and *no one* cared. and went into the studio with a mere $3000 and still made a cd 'struggling' with better guitar sounds/ideas and non 'we can play' compostional sense. then pretty much anything released now or then. nirvana's 'gonad growls' got to be alternative but this didn't. i really should have just shoot myself. ...as long as everything is good for everyone else guess that's what counts.

    it's pathetic but one of thr big reasons/i've given up have no hope is because nothing interst me art wise you know no books/no cds blah blah.. how can i dream ??? how could i ??? 'how did you think that you'd survive??'


    oh my bloody valentine on 'isn't anything' (loved that disc) there a song 'sue is fine' but it was discovred. much later. well much later be me. that kevin was singing 'suicide'

    he said there was lot of chaos surrounding the band and he couldn't sing suicide in front people(lack of first hand knowledge) blah blah etc..

    he more *importantly* to me described sonics as having a (time for a paraphrase) a jumbled,gimme gimme want it all feeling/but not knowing what you want/but wanting it desperately and soon...

    yep he said that the 'sonics' not the lyrics. and i guess that's one the reason why they were important to me or why i prefer 'isn't anything' over 'loveless'

    i know they 'something' happening in the 'sonics' i alot of the stuff i like and i'm too stupid to figure it out. and your usual critics only talk about /expalin the 'sonics' of 'normal' rock bands......

    yeah anyone else would heave tried to 'say' that in words. but not kevin shields.

    oh when i was younger i was living in a place in the south. probaly a poulation of what at the time 100,000-125,000 a non media capital so i was out of sync with mainstream/'alternative'/'indie kid' .plus i was very *not cool*

    i do know with internet/pawnshops/ ec. alot of stuff i liked. is cool...with your normal rock/alternative fan...ha ha...

    yeah years afeter fact when there's zero chance of 'guitars' being a dominat(sp?) or even main 'discourse.' i mean yeah the same i used to grunge fan(pearl jam/stp/nirvana) type did a write up of something i used to like on amazon.com goin crazy... the joke being 'grunge' types would have hated that recording back whenever because it was 'too' weird. and that band didn't know how to rock etc....

    i give up. maybe time has 'declawed' some of the stuff i liked.but hey if all these 'mormal' rock types would have given some stuff i liked a chance back then instead of dismissing at 'weird'. yeah is an insult but famailiar and competent wasn't ??? oh yeah....

    there would be a good cd to listen to today. but they're hasn't been a good cd since 1901. and everyone else now gets to enjoy cds i used to like. and get cool points for it too. *i give up*.........*arrrrrrrrrgh*

    oh well sorry about the problems you mention the female music fan had. but you did met a lorelei fan. and i've never met one.....

    hmm books.. 'high life' by matthew stokoe was good.... :)

    Hey if you like Ackerman try Alex de Grassi he is a very much the same...for a bit edgier try early Michael Hedges...his new stuff is "sell out" muzak for the most part...
