    I'll Play. This is rather candid, so be nice.

    *I'm 24 years old.
    *In person I am painfully shy and quiet (until I warm up to the people I'm around, then I'm not shy... but still very quiet).
    *I have never taken an illegal drug in my life and I doubt I ever will.
    *I have never smoked a cigarette in my life and I KNOW I never will.
    *I'm a Taurus and Year of the Pig. I don't believe in that stuff, but they fit my personality pretty well.
    *Growing up I always had my nose stuck in a book. I sat and read at recess instead of playing with the other kids. My social life has suffered a lot.
    *I have a hard time hanging onto friends because I have trust issues and I'm usually to somber and quiet for most people to want to hang around for long.
    *I'm way too mature for my age. I have always gotten along better with the parents of my peers than my actual peers.
    *I've never kissed a guy who is the same race as me (not that I'm opposed to it, it just hasn't happened yet).
    *Normally the only guys that ever look my way are middle aged men.
    *I hate competitive sports but I like screwing around doing sporty things.
    *I have a passion for music, but fall short on talent (I can sing and play, but nothing extraordinary)
    *I have a passion for photography but my parents laughed in my face when I told them that was what I wanted to do with my life. I never followed through.
    *Spanish is what is supposed to save me from a mediocre life, but I don't think I'm going to follow through with that either.
    *I'm way too hard on myself and I think the fault lies with my parents, but I think its too late to reverse the damage.

    phil - actually i didnt know much of the facts, even though i read ur bulletins, the questions are pretty lame
    for instance - whats the closest green thing to you.

    your list is pretty interesting. i loved blair witch too, shit haunted me. now i remember why i was so scared to go camping. i can say that was one of the movies that has scared me that much. the grude was scary cause the thing popped out a lot. i dont find many horror movies scary nowadays.

    blair witch was genius and profited so much. the advertising was crazy though.

    LOL DB, there is only 2 movies that have EVER scared me....as a KID my parents too me to see Alien in the theater...i LOST IT when the Alien popped out of John Hurt's chest.....i have NEVER seen that movie....but ive seen ALIENS and ALIEN3 and Ressurection, so i doubt that would scare me now...

    Blair witch creeps me out tho....i am not easily scared, but, watching that shit during the summer, with the surround sound CRANKED and teh windows open on a moonless night....i tense up.

    and, the closest green thing to me is the cover of my notebook LMAO....yeah, some of those surveys are, well, odd, and i do them JUST cause the lame ass questions make me laugh LMAO....

    How about a more superficial list

    *I'm Left Handed
    *I LOVE dogs (mostly small-medium fluffy dogs)
    *I generally only watch sitcoms and cartoons because I HATE scheduling my life around TV
    *I love pockets, pockets all over my pants, jackets, purses, etc. More pockets=more good (Ironically I learned this weekend that my parents called me pockets when I was little because I had a pair of pink pants with big pockets on the legs and one of my first words was pockets)
    *Mouth noises drive me CRAZY. I have urges to strangle anyone who makes noise when they chew.
    *I'm hopelessly addicted to Lifetime Movies.
    *I'm afraid of the dark.
    *I have a feeling my grandparents ghosts hang around the house. It doesn't bother me that they are here, I just never want to see them.
    *I chew gum almost constantly when I am not at home (though always with my mouth closed).
    *I am constantly thirsty, I drink water all day long but its never enough. I usually go to bed parched after drinking a gallon of water.
    *I LOVE falafel, Lebanese, Mexican/Tex-Mex, and Indian food... yet almost everyone criticizes me for being a picky eater and no one in my family will even try any of that stuff.
    *I don't care all that much for sweets. I like them, but I rarely crave them.
    *One dessert that I do want all the time is pie. Any kind except blueberry (I fucking hate blueberries).
    *I'm obsessed with books about vampires, but I don't care for vampire movies.
    *When I was younger (high school age) I sang all the time. Randomly burst into song constantly. My brother called me "the soundtrack to our lives." I don't do it nearly as much anymore. I think it was the lack of inhibition from going to an all-girls school. Going to a coed college made me even more introverted.
    *I generally refuse to eat any meat that is still on the bone (this is why I'm considered picky).

    in reference to JM's list....i saw Monster Magnet Live....Stone Pony in Jersey....Dave was hanging from the pipes on the ceiling....it was awesome.

    one of the dudes i used to deal with in the middle of the night at my store, he was in the band that Originally did a song Monster Magnet Covered....5 Years Ahead Of My Time...that guy was a fucking nut case.

    - Born and raised in Durango, Mexico. Not too famous of a city but several movies known to have been filmed there, also known for the abundance of scorpions.
    - Currently living in the Austin-Metro area, married for almost 10 years, two daughters.
    - Regular job is software developer, I also bartend on Friday nights.
    - Shawshank redemption is my favorite movie all time.
    - I love camping, specially when joined by several other families.
    - I drink plenty on parties, like bloody marys, beer and rum. Can't stand tequila anymore. I drank my life's share as a teenager, now my body rejects it.

    of the Universe.
    13. I am extremely political and have some great ideas on how this country (US) should be run.

    15. I lived in Iran until I was 5 with my mother. She worked in the PeaceCorps and than with State Department.
    16. My mother saved the Shah of Iran's wife by notifying the police that strange men where walking around back stage at a talk she was about to give.
    17. I've lived in Austin, Southern Califonia, Denver, Jersey City, Pennsylvania and now Frenchtown, NJ. Personally I love Texas and California the best. Although California in the summer sucks. Smog is so thick you could swim through it.
    18. My favorite foods are Tex Mex or Mexican, Indian, Persian and I love a good hamburger. PS I can cook most of the these two. My dad had me cooking from the time I could walk. Tex-Mex is my favorite to cook, but I love to play around with others.
    19. My favorite band is Black Sabbath with Ozzy and Ozzy's solo material. Although I love everykind of music. I just passed 5000 songs on my IPod and there isn't one that I don't like on there.
    20. I play guitar and my guitar idols are Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) and Jimmy Page.

    - I've had sex (besides regular places in the house (bed, shower, table, counter, couch, etc...) in an ambulance, hospital doctors lounge, Paramedic locker room, Pool, Park at night, Truck, Car, Broncos Stadium at night (mile high), Office, and Roof (a flat roof not an angled one)
    - I love going out to the desert and riding quads
    - I love outdoor activities (camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, etc...)
    - I rarely get bored being alone
    - I can mix with any type of crowd from formal to ghetto
    - I'm half Okinawan and half white
    - I was made fun of growing up because I was such a tomboy

    Just North of Ontario... Weathers a bit chilly these last couple of days, other then that still to many people and traffic. Though not as bad since the 210 freeway's been running these last several years...

    Although I admit its nice being under an hour away from practically everything..

    Spoken like a true Califonian.....Everything is like an hours "drive" away. Everything worth the drive anyway.
    My college at the time San Bernandino Valley College was considered close and that was 45 minutes away.
    In NJ you drive 45 minutes you'll pass through two states.

    Pennsylvania....Yes.....New York City....for work it is great....Delaware - other New York City Bouroughs - Philadelphia, Not so much. Maryland and Virginia are only a couple ours away, but are nice.
    It's cold though. Yesterday it was in the 50's, but today it will stay in the 30's and dip into the teens tonight.
    Our weather has been eratic on the east coast. 1 week it is freezing cold and the next week it like spring.

    We get the periodic rain and lower temps but usually its very nice here... like today the current cold temp is 52 with the rest of the week looking to be about the same... We do get Vegas which is a couple /three hours away and Mexico another three /four hours away...

    Well, technically Beans is from my 'hood, too... he just doesn't live here anymore.

    And Angel is down south while Manolo and Beans are S. West... so its not like everyone is from either E. Coast or W. Coast. Its just unusual how the majority of the people who post on this forum are living on one end or the other.

    uh, i used to work maintence at a day school/camp.

    there was lots of playgrounds on grounds.

    i had sex in this playground (at night obvioulsy, no kids around), but, it was like a cinderblock castle thing, and it had playground sand all in it. very unpleasent, but i was complaining, my ass was sandy afterwards tho, and not in the soft beach sand kinda way....

    TLA I have to disagree....I think Mariah has the best voice and range I've ever heard. She has always blown me

Its hard for me to change my mind away from Barbara since I have loved her voice since the first time I watched Hello Dolly when I was a very little girl (its still one of my all time favorite movies)... Its almost like trying to get me to admit that anyone was a better dancer then Fred Astaire, just wont happen... Don't get me wrong Mariah voice is amazing...

    I know what you mean. Mariah just blew me away the first time I heard her. My dad was into musicals so I had Barbara pounded into my eardrums at an early age. I think I just saw Mariah as fresh spring breeze in my musical taste evolution.
    Aside from Hello Dolly do you have a favorite musical.
    I of course love Singing in the Rain, but My too favorites are Oliver! and West Side Story. Also there was a musical that never made it far on stage, but the original soundtrack that was put out before it went to stage was amazing. That was Chess. The London and Broadway productions were nothing like the (I can't think of the word)....But it was kind of a proposal for a musical before it goes to production and stage.

    I'm bored and I've been inspired by some of the things other's are saying

    *I was raised devout Catholic, woke up one day when I was 15 and thought "I don't believe." I considered myself athiest for awhile, now I'm agnostic.
    *I drive a mid-90s Oldsmobile Acheiva, formerly an early-90s Grand Marquis (called the Pimpmobile), formerly a late-80s Ford Tempo. All were more or less hand-me-downs.
    *I too love looking at maps.
    *All things History or Culture fascinate me. Never had a knack for it though, that's why I studied it but didn't major in it specifically.
    *My favorite snack food is popcorn. My grandfather made the best popcorn ever.
    *Speaking of grandparents, my grandmother made THE BEST CHICKEN SOUP EVER. No lie... if you could have tried it I swear you would agree. It was a day long process to make it. To this day I can't really eat any other kind of chicken soup besides just packaged broths, because nothing compares.
    *I really miss my grandparents. Even though I spent more time with my actual parents growing up, I think I may concider my grandparents more as parental figures.
    *I'm too smart for my own good with no real skills to back it up... which leaves me where I am now in my life and I'm not happy.
    *I have an informal collection of stuff with a turtle theme. I don't even remember how it started...
    *I hate hot weather, but living in Madrid reconditioned me and now I have a hard time dealing with the cold.
    *I hate being touched for the most part. I can deal with it if its someone I care about romantically. But just barely.
    *I don't really like cats, but I'm pretty sure my future is as "cat lady." Even my dad said it. Depressing. I'll be the cat lady from the simpsons who doesn't love her cat, she just uses them as weapons.
    *The extent of my game playing is Sonic The Hedgehog, from the Sega Genesis days. Damn I miss that game. My experiences never went much further.
    *That being said... on the rare occassion that I do play games I tend to kick my opponents ass without even really trying. No one ever really asks me to play.
    *I have a weakness for all things salty and fried. I've paid for it a bit in the past year and now I'm trying to reverse the damage. Curse you Spain and your potato chips fried in Olive Oil.

    I used to have intimacy issues - they still resurface from time to time.
    I find solutions to my friends problems, but hardly ever to mine.
    I'm thought of as a soft touch because I like to help people (I'm toughening up - slowly).
    In the past few years I've found out that I am a lot stronger than I could have imagined.
    Sonic is still my favourite game though I have played others since.
    Sometimes friends ask me to take over a game when they get stuck, because sometimes I'll find a different way around it.
    I seem to be a jack of all trades and a master of none - this is not helping me on the job market at the moment.
    The past two years have seriously dented my optimism - though I still plenty to spare!
    I sometimes play the fool to misdirect people.
    I'm sure that all this will come back and bite me on the ass.

    Pinchy...Work anywhere....do anything. Working at different places really gives you a good gauge of what you like and don't like.
    I know the job market is fierce, but you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and an education. You really have a lot of great things going for you. You just need to believe that and put yourself out there. Plus job rejection isn't real rejection anyway.....They just went went with someone else...Nothing personal.
    Best way to go into a job interview is not caring one way or the other. It leaves your mind open for boobing and weaving questions and answers. Just sit back and relax all you muscles. Also take along a pad with your own questions. Not many people do that and that can make a big difference.
    If you ever need career advice...let me know....I'm 18 of 20 on job interviews.....*crosses fingers* Hope that doesn't jinx me.

    Well damn this is turning into "Confessions of a Bastard". Anyway, I wouldn't post any personal info Phil, like date of birth, since this is a public thread.
    I guess I'm next.

    - I was also raised in a Catholic school, which used to be all boys before I enrolled, but fortunately accepted girls by the time I got there. But it looked like the brothers were doing a screening process because those girls were, well, not very girly.

    - I spent easter of every year in middle school as a missionary, up in the mountains, no electricity, no plumbing, we had to take baths in the river, and had to break the ice first. It was indeed a humbling experience, but I wouldn't do it again.

    - I used to name my cars, my first one was a brown AMC pacer, like the wayne's world one, we called it the "cochroach". Next I had a white nissan pick up truck, the "pigeon". Next was a small chevy similar to the echos here, called the "hummingbird". I now drive a focus, but I've grown out of the name calling, I should do it again.

    - I wanted to be an airforce pilot when I was young. But the airforce sucks in Mexico, plus I wear glasses and have a flat foot. So there goes that.

    KB... we DO have some definite similarities. I think the most significant difference is that you are so warm and positive and I'm so hardened and realistic (I'm not saying you aren't realistic, I just don't like to refer to myself as negative or pessimistic).

    And thanks for the advice Ed. Believe it or not, I usually do go into an interview and rock it out. The problems is I don't get many interviews because I live in a wasteland and there are no job opportunities, and I don't want to relocate just yet. But I really do appreciate any advice I can get.

    And yes, Sonic the Hedgehog really does rock. I tried to find a sega genesis a few years back but was unable to. My brother bought me a dreamcast right as they stopped making them, so I never got any games for it. I did play (I think it was) Sonic Adventure and it was pretty cool. I'd like to see if I could get it so that I could play a Sonic game.

    u can download "emulators" for your PC.

    you can LITERALLY have EVERY pre n64 game at your fingertips REALLY easily.

    i have EVERY Sega SMS, Genesis, 32x, soem sega CD....and every NES, and soem n64....i dont have any SNES, cause the PC controller i have is more like the Genesis COntrollor, which is why i bought it,,,,


    sio the n64 games? cant play them....not enough buttons on the controllor...

    but i DLed them for free too...

    i NEVER had that many games for my NES/genesis....cause 40-50 bucks a pop?

    i literally passed out when i was able to download EVERY NES andGenesis game for FREE and play them on my PC...

    nice especially to FINALLY play some of the rarer games.

    dont know if youknow about that....
