This thread was created by fellow bastards to help you get started. In here you will find suggestions on how to go by your day to day forum life and a little help on how to use the posting tools.

There isn’t a set of official rules dictated by the forum administrators. Also, this forum is currently not being moderated, and we’d like to keep it that way. That being said, a few of us forum bastards have discussed ideas and suggestions to keep the forum interesting, fun and manageable. These are the ideas of a few of us, and not necessarily supported by the forum administrators or policed in any way:

+ There are various categories, one of them being the Introduce Yourself category. Go ahead and create your first posting there, click on Start a damn new discussion and select the Introduce Yourself category, tell us a bit about yourself. You can look at previous postings in this category and find out more about us. This is the best way to get an official welcome from us to you.

+ Use the search function a lot, especially at first. Not only will you get to read a number of interesting threads that you never would have been exposed to, but you also will see when we last had a thread on a topic. Just like with any search engine, try multiple words that could refer to the same topic, and make sure you select topics and comments. This will increase your forum knowledge and the best way to find out about what the forum is all about.

+ Since you used search, you might be tempted to re-post on one of those old threads. However, thread necrophilia is not very popular. If a thread is dead, leave it dead, do not try to revive it. It died for a reason, and that reason is because the forum gods willed it to die.

+ Please have respect for all members of the forum. Personal attacks or inflammatory posts are frowned upon and in this case could get you banned permanently.

+ Contribute! Remember, this is a forum, we gather to discuss ideas, tell jokes, share opinions, debate, argue, inform, etc. We don't care whether you can type 600 words per minute or you write like a 4th grader. Most of us initially came here just to look at a photo or listen to some you tube video, but ended up staying on because we found out that posting is addictive. We regard a contribution as anything of interest that you can put in a post. It might be just a few sentences, a picture, a comic, or a link to an interesting Web Site, a video, etc.

+ This is not a chat room! If you have friends on the forum, that's great but this is not the place to hold long, drawn-out conversations that no one else can get involved with. If you want to talk to your friends, then we suggest you do it over AIM or some other form of instant messenger. Or if you absolutely cannot do that, please use the "whisper" function. Whispers can’t be read by other members. Remember, there are many members of the forum and we do not all want to read about your personal/sexual lives all the time. Also, we do not want to read through 100 comments that do not relate to the thread or are just uninformative "chat" comments.

+ The edit button is a great way of adding in things you missed. Posting 3 or 4 times in a row comes out as a crazy conversation with yourself.

+ Blanket posting is annoying, unless you actually have something of value to add in every single thread you are responding to. Think before you post.

+ NSFW is a welcome warning if needed.
