I saw the trailer videos on the site & it's looking pretty damn unreal. In one of the vids, there's even a strip club scene, which is kinda shocking considering they went through all that nudity stuff w/ the last release.

Anyway, I hope that it loves up to all the hype...
  1.
u know, as of right now im not regretting spending my PS3/GTA money on a trip im taking the 25th through the 4th.....even if the videos DO look completely unreal.....

    awwwww....you all gonna miss me?

    LOL

someone post the trailers for GTA.... the 3? i saw look fucking PIMP...

OH wanna laugh? i read a story they asked teh peopel who made Iron man if they are WORRIED that the release of GTA earlierthat week is gonna kill their opening day numbers LMAO....

    thought that was funny....

I've played Vice City and San Andreas
i'll be getting it, the only game i've been looking more forward to is Fallout 3
  2.
I've spend literally hundreds of hours on the previous gta games (including the old-skool 2d ones).

My fave is still VC in terms of atmosphere, but SA was just a technical masterpiece.

They've delayed GTA4 endlessly enough, so it's about time they released that shit! I'll be hitting it in HD on the 360.
  3.
i have to get this game. it's gonna be as controversial as ever... i heard it has a online multi-player funtion too.
  4.
    Loki....16 Players online....

when you all get it please take some tiem out and come talk about the online mode...id be interested to see what its all about IE if its like Halo or SOCOM where you only have a set mapped board, of if you can in fact like use the WHOLE city online in multiplayer....that would be sick....
  5.
Well, I hope it's like the epic Crackdown (one of the absolute best games on the 360, hands down).

In multi player, in which you btw also had co-op modes, you had the run of the ENTIRE fucking city.

This was sometimes annoying, seeing as you could spend 10 minutes getting from your spawning point across the city to where your co-op buddy was ripping shit up.

But of course the running battles could then rage on right across the city. Co-op in Crackdown simply fucking rocks. Awesome game.

And knowing that GTA maps are usually even much bigger, hm... I do hope they thought the mp aspect through well.
  6.
u know what open ended city play leaves open for GTA online?

shit like multiple missions, or stuff like in the real game, where its like say...

    8 on 8....

and you have to see who can make the most money pimping whores in like 30 minutes? u know the pimp mode?

everyone on each team has to find a pimp car and then do the hooker mini game...

just one idea...but it would seem cool if they worked it so you could use the whole city and make the missions interesting...

SOCOM and HALO are too much like Paint Ball to me....

EB Games is giving up 20% extra if you trade shit in and pre-order it. Just traded in a few older flimmy flams to git in on it.
  7.
wow, the hype for all this is craaaazy. Everywhere, everyday GTA GTA!

I'm still stuck on Cod4 with the new maps YAY!
  8.
anybody managed to get hold of a copy, yet?
  9.
Nope, mine's been dispatched by amazon on release day (yesterday). I should get it before end of this week.

Waited years for GTA4, so a few more days aren't gonna make much of a difference.
  10.
So, I just got it and played for 30 mins or so on the 360. First impressions:

    - Yeaaaaah boyyyyy it's GTA! Haha! It's like the return of an old friend.
    - The cars handle more realistically, but you get used to it really quickly.
    - The graphics are a bit better in HD (obviously), such as the car models, but
    - The framerate - as in other gta games - is fucking ATROCIOUS.
    - Music stations seem good on first impression.
    - You actually warm to the new main charcter fairly quickly.
    - The city doesn't seem so overly familiar as I thought it would, having already chewed thought it in GTA3 and LCS. I'm much relieved by this.

So, first signs are very good! :) Well that's it for now, might play a bit more later if I'm in the mood.

    Anyone else try it yet?
  11.
Mwahaa! I've just unlocked the entire city. :)

First thing I did was fly over the statue of liberty (that actually holds a beer cup instead of a torch which you can only see up close) and collected my special prize.

I tried a multiplayer session too - there is an absolute fuckloads of mp options but I'm more focussed on sp for the moment.

    Fucking kick-ass game.
  12.
u know, im gonna get back into San Andreas since i was just around LA and want to see how it compares...

as for GTA4...wow im impressed....500 Mill in the first week? something like 6 million copies? thats fucking ridiculous.

I'm still dating Michelle, saving Romans ass and chasing down Darden. I can't keep the fucking car on the road. I haven't exactly tried to play it without smoking first.

How's school going for you John? I've got a biz ethics class going right now, I'm lovin' it.

    TL;DR

My friend reports that you can also get drunk and drive around. I had more details but they just slipped me.

All right i'm a good ways in
Great game, much better story line than previous GTAs
though still not as compelling as some less open games
my only complaint is the phone system
    kind of unwieldy
and the drunk driving thing is interesting
what pisses me off about that is
i can drive around sober: bashing into other cars, swerving, running red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road
and the cops don't blink an eye
but as soon as i get into a car drunk they are all over me no matter how i'm driving
which is a load of shit
but all in all a nice sequel

    ^lol

I've just been >inside< the 'statue of liberty'. Haha creepy...
  14.
Whew! Just completed the main storyline. Wo-hooooooo!
  15.
i been playing it abit for the past 3 weeks or so. but since it ain't my game i've been doing little besides just cause mayhem and destuction. the only flaw the game has is that it doesn't have has as many features or range of vehicles as san andreas. but the feel and look of the game blows andreas out the water. the online deathmatchs are fucking sweet too (how do you get the fucking chopper????).
  16.
No, San Andreas, and indeed VC did have some features I miss (ex. fish & turtles in VC, along with roller blade bikini girls in both VC and SA).

There are no airplanes in GTA4 because there would be no point - there's only one airport.
I still don't understand however, why even with the storyline finished, the airport will earn you a 4-star wanted level. WTF R*?!

Attack choppers in MP are to be found on the heliport in the middle island. Haven't done much MP, though I enjoy the cops & robbers mp action occasionally.
To me, GTA is a sp game first and foremost.

well i guess the logic in san andreas was that at least you owned a plane
so there was a reason for you to be on the runway
    not so in gta4
at least as far as i know

well thats just put that one to rest. listen and learn...

anyways. my view on GTA is that the best is yet to come. this game hasn't even scratched the surface of what a second gen GTA could be. i await the true next gen GTA. maybe one in a totally new city too.

I'm gonna step up to the plate and say that I suck at this game. I'm finally caught up to that damn Darden and firebombed his ass.

That's how far I am. I currently have a major case of LGS; Lame Gamer Syndrome.
  18.
Well hang on in there Chef. I think none of the missions gave me too much trouble. I actually found this to be the 'easiest' gta of all of them...
I suppose that's a good thing, considering the flack R* drew over the ultra-frustrating Zero missions in SA.

And fuck it - I wanna roam around the airport at my leisure and blow shit up!!
Fortunately, I've now gotten very good at escaping 4 star wanted levels. Practice, practice, practice. :)
