Here you go BTD the prices as of yesterday. I don't drive at the moment. Yesterday was one of the first times that I missed my old car. But at these prices, glad to be using public transport I think!

yo blue, earlier this week i read about the world gas prices and europe has among the highest, but they also very fuel efficient (and very small) autos, as well a higher economy.
i was surprised that in mexico gas is less than $2 (they got their own supply), and in saudi arabia and dubai its like $.10 or less.
even australia gets theirs for like $1.

i also saw some Jeep and Doge commercials this week, in which they advertise that if you buy a new car from them, they gaurentee a $3 per gallon for 3 years.
    corruption??

Well in Mexico gas is cheaper this year, but the prices are controlled by the government. Gas prices never go down over there, even if the price per barrel goes down. The prices constantly go up as planned by the economic plans the government has. They announce it in advance, like for example, gas prices will hit X over the course of the next year with increments of Y every month.

2007 was the first year since 1976 that gas is cheaper in Mexico than in the USA. Traditionally towns close to the border would buy gas on the USA side.

    I'm glad I use a bicycle.

(I don't go places too far, nor too often for that.)

The only shitty thing is that it's FUCKING HOT IN HOUSTON. So I go places at night and when it's cold season.
Otherwise, I make my friends take me places.
    :)

hehe I use a bicycle too but mostly for fun. I can't travel far with a bicycle and if I did I'd get all sweaty.

But hybrid cars really are fuel efficient. I have a prius and I can go almost 60 miles per gallon (but it also depends on how bad the traffic is).

Well at least someone is trying to go greener in the face of high gas prices....and not just complain.
I thought you were in Washington DC though.

I have two cars & a motorcycle....and I still prefer to use CTA. It gives me time to read & listen to music and relax.

And I split my time between Boston & Chicago.

I like Chicago. Very clean compared to New York. I agree....Mass transportation is the way to go. Sometimes you do
need a car, but for day to day commuting....Public transport at least gives you some free time.

This is interesting........"British gasoline costs $4.64 a gallon more than in the U.S., compared with an average difference of $3.85 over the past five years, according to data compiled by Bloomberg."

"In Germany, a gallon costs $8.33, more than double 2002 levels. The highest is $9.69 in Norway,"

    I like Chicago, too.

I hate NY....but that's because I'm from Boston (sort of).

And I use my car to pick up my daughter or head out to the suburbs....otherwise, my flat white ass is always planted on a Red Line or Purple Line seat....mainly the Purple Line.

I live in Cali - highest priced gas in the US... - except for Catalina Island oh and Alaska... lol
  7.
i was just wondering cause, like i know the Euro is like....1 euro =1.75 US.

so with the quote, a gallon of gas ( i realize you guys use liters? so, KB's post is say, x4 per price since around 4 liters is a gallon.....

its scary how much bad the US Economy really is, i mentioned it as a joke in the other thread, but, its scary i rememeber going to canada throught HS...and like shit was SO much cheaper there, hence why mags had the 495 US 695 Canada....

now their economy is pretty much EQUAL to ours, and, to buy stuff there is a SHITLOAD more expensive since, like the UK they have 2 taxes, and shit winds up being taxed like 13%....instead of say here in NY where its almost 9.

i did see the Jeep/Chrysler commerical...what sucks about that tho is THIS...

its on all the lower end models....IE, i want to buy a 300c when i get full time status at my job, BUT i want the 5.6 liter V8 300+ hp one.....guess what? that 3 bucks a gallon for 3 years isnt ON that model....nor on ANY SRT dodge models....

liek why but a cherroke, or Charger or 300c and NOT buy a V8 for the horses? makes no sense.

thankfully, i dont use my car for anything but work and golf pretty much. my 93 saturn i fill once every 2 weeks, 8-8.5 gallons of 10.

thats like, oh, 200 miles or so. 20 MPG actually sucks, and i dont know why it only gets 20MPH since its a 4 cyl saturn....but like i said, eh....

as for Public transportation...for me to take a train to work, which is possible....it would be pretty much the SAME price....think 4 bucks a day? thats like 40 bucks?

close to what i pay for gas....

and, i have to then wake up earler and get hoem later cause i have to catch certain time trains...so its more of an inconvince right now for me to use public transportation.
