Teenagers like Taylor Swift do. They take it VERY seriously. You saw how dressed up she was. She looked like she was going to the Grammy's. The VMA's are a huge fucking joke now. I remember back in the day (when MTV used to show videos....remember that?) the VMA's were the anti-Grammys. I used to watch it JUST for the performances. Now, it's just "Look...celebrities winning an award for a video you've probably never seen...because we don't show videos anymore".

something like this has never happened at the oscars/academy award where the perceived importance is about 7000 times higher.

All the bickering about who should have won what at Oscars is done BEHIND the scenes...I know for a fact that Grace Kelly won an Award that Judy Garland should have won and it's been considered a major upset.

Kanye West Taylor Swift Controversy Staged

Was Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMAs staged?

It turns out both artists have the same agent, David Wirtschafter. Not only that but David Wirtschafter is also 50 Cents agent.

If you remember, a year ago there was a beef between 50 Cent and Kanye West right before their albums dropped. 50 Cent said he would retire if Kanye sold more albums then him because Kanye’s music is garbage. Later both artists admitted the “beef” was staged to promote their album releases.

So Kanye and Wirtschafter have faked a controversy in the past to help promote another artist who he represents. Also isn’t it a little suspicious that Kanye was flaunting that Hennessey bottle all night to show that he was getting drunk?

Celebrities are a big business people. Almost everything is controlled. There is just too much money involved.

not only did i sleep on the lil mama thing. not having watched the award program/ i didn't know of it until you mentioned it in a front page post. and then i did a little search engine magic...and yep it happened. it was just beyond over shadowed...

I honestly don't think it was staged. I've seen people bum rush the stage at the VMA's before and you usually don't see them for the rest of the night. Notice that you didn't see Kanye ANYWHERE for the rest of the night and there's more than one account of security throwing him the hell out. I think he was genuinely drunk and being a royal fucking douche. I feel a little bad for Tayor Swift...because he stole her spotlight. That and he probably reeked of booze...and who wants booze breath in their mouth.
