    sept is never a good month.but i always love reading these...

    if jen's body does 'only' $18 million/i think that's a really good number for a sept film (maybe i should research that before i type it. nah...) and a good number for a horror type film.

    and hell if they were expecting the worlds biggest boxfice it may not have gotten a sept release.

    this film was supposed to come out out aug/sept last year. and got pushed back/ way back to now...but hey even if there whatever names involved see what happened to shutter island this year or the soloist last year. this stuff happens.

    I think they wanted to borrow some of the momentum from the Transformer 2 movie....Releasing it in September takes it out of contention with all the summer
    blockbusters and still might draw the still drooling Megan Fox folk.
    18 million sounds a bit far fetched though...I'd guess about 10 million, but that is a complete guess. Although it might do better considering they have been
    promoting the crap out of it.....Probably spent more in promotion than they spent on the film.

    i STILL believe that minus friday the 13th this year, Jennifers Body will have the biggest percentage drop off from week 1 to week 2 in 2009.

    she should be lucky Pandorum got pushed back, that movie really looks fucking awesome...

    and i saw Gamer friday. for some, they will guess correctly as to WHY i went to see it.... happily Lloyd Kaufman from Troma Studios fame had a quick cameo (funny) but Gamer was actually not to bad.

    i thought it was gonna suck balls, but some of the sequences were really great and surreal...

    like you know those hanging bubble chairs? hey used that like one of those marble clickers on strings. pretty smart.

    some good shots and sequences. i was suprised i liked it as much as i do.

    jen's body has a beyond/beyond horrible weekend $6.7 million and other tales of the weekend box office...


    i thought gamer would have done a little better than what it did. and ed you had the crystal ball. pretty close to dead on. but hell considering the number of screens and genre and how well known megan is. this result can't be spun to anything positive.but as long as people still want to have sex with her/ i guess that all counts.arrrgh..

    lestr we forget if it only did 6.7 mil... the completely epic fail it is for Diablo Cody.

    cause isnt this her 1st movie POST Juno?

    gotta be embaressing to get nominated for an oscar andthen have your next movie sink like the titanic.

    bet it doesnt do more than 1.5 next week.

    and it will be comp;etely out of the theaters by week 5 of release.

    cant say that being right about how much this movie epically failed isnt making me happy. cause it is.

    I agree with BTD. I was thinking the same exact thing about the 2nd week.....Imagine how horrid numbers are going to be now. The may only get like a sixth
    of 6.7 million in the second week.

    btd, this is her fisrt movie post juno.

    i've had so much *arrrgh* towards diablo and megan i was thinking i should watch jen's body just to see if there's were reason for me to still incoherently rant against them.

    but so many people that like d.c. or megan have seen the film or read the script and are/were going *no* i think maybe i should sit this one out. :)

    the 'she's hot'/i want to f*** thing in itself seldom equals/crossover to ultra big boxoffice/especially when 'hot' person is sooo not well liked on a personal level/sort of happens/kicks in again

    Diablo should have stuck with United States Of Tara and worked on something else.


    And if you haven't seen United States Of Tara, then you honestly cannot judge Diablo Cody on EVERYTHING she's done....

    in all fairness.... Toni Collette is pretty awesome. she could make M Night Suckalan or the dude who wrote alien tresspass look good.


    BTW Whiteout... talk about some false advertizing. i was expecting a Carpenter's Thing rip off..... based on the trailer... it was DOG SHIT.... and NOT a fucking horror movie....

    d.j. maybe diablo just had the sophomore jinx with jen's body and i know she did a rewrite for this film Burlesque but whomever wasn't happy with that. so some other people were brought in.old post about d.c.'s involvement here...

    but the rumor mill says her next script think it's called girly style (sorry i'm blotching the titles) is supposed to her best. d.c. is someone i feel i should like/and would root for but juno oh no... maybe her other projects could work better for me...


    btd,collette pulled of that emmy win. happy ???? :)

    haven't seen of tara but a really strange thing.at least houston...

    in jan. this year the houston landmark had a free screening of 'tara' well they showed two episodes a bit before they hit showtime. was a big deal from what i was told/gathered.i got there a half hour early and was told the seats here far out and gone...
